is the Tropical Fairy Festival
The
Tropical Fairy Festival is a celebration of everything Fairy and Fairy
philosophy. Fairies are natures spirits. The Fae are joy loving entities
that remind us to be merry and celebrate the beauty of our planet. The
Tropical Fairy Festival allows renowned vendors, artists, and performers
to gather in Miami, network, educate, and entertain an ever-growing audience
of Fairy Fans.
The
Tropical Fairy Festival is a two or three day event that will always be
held the second weekend of October at the beutiful, mystical and historic
Coral Castle in Homestead (miami) Florida. We promote a love for nature,
and nature loving spirits, such as Fairies, Mermaids, Hobbits, Greenmen,
Elves, Pixies and Sprites (just to mention a few).
We help individuals find a more positive
spiritual path in life through fairy energy. The fairies promote nature
loving, positive and joy loving mindset.
Through our festivals, we come together
as a community, we have fun while we learn about he environment and our
impact in it. As we are honored by visits from many families with small
children, we are given the opportunity, and responsibility to help the
youngest members of our community build a strong bond with nature. We inspire
a positive attitude with a lighthearted message of joy and happiness. We
allow all who wish to come together and celebrate the incredible magic
of nature itself.
Through an indirect reflection of our own
differences that have lasting, long term benefits to our global community.
It helps us become more accepting of each other, understanding our vast
diversity while at the same time we become more loving and protective of
our planet. At the Tropical Fairy Festival you will be able to view an
array of artists, performers, and vendors.
We host an array
of events at the Tropical Fairy Festival, including small group craft workshops
& lectures that are held by guest speakers and some vendors.
The Tropical Fairy Festival also likes
to host sing along, drumming circles and similar interactive activities.
At all Tropical Fairy Festival you can
also expect an array of gifted performers, dancers, and entertainers of
just about any array of Fairy related art.
 
Since nature is so close to the hearts
of the Tropical Fairies, we also invite environmental awareness, non-profit
and animal welfare agencies to attend all Tropical Fairy Events.

About
the Founder of the Tropical Fairies
Atena
Komar is a fairy loving spiritualist who grew up in the beautiful Tropics
of South Florida and makes it her home to this day. Having no desire to
move north where typically fairy festivals are held, she gathered the help
of other Tropical Fairies to form Florida's first Fairy Festival.
This is me.
 I
am a spiritual development consultant and Reiki Practitioner. I have studied
with various teachers, the ones that inspired me most are Nancy De La Teja,
Sandra Cheryl Richardson and Rob Cisna.
My studies have allowed
me to explore many spiritual paths, I have learned about Buddhism, Christianity,
Kabalah, Pagan beliefs including Native American Spirituality, Wicca, New
Age Beliefs. I also learned a little about Santeria, Voodoo and other lesser
known (in my region) paths as well as ancient religions such as the one
practiced by the ancient Greeks, Romans, Mayas, Incas and Egyptians.
My teachings have
led me to the Path of Fairy, where I feel most at home. I enjoy their joyful
ways and admire the pure, emotionally driven energy they represent.
In recent years,
my art has in many respects focus mostly on the Fae. This of course includes
all nature spirits, such as flower fairies, dark fairies, trooping fairies,
mermaids, elves, gargoyles and all spirits grounded in nature.
I like the path of
fairy as to me it is the closest path to that of mankind. It is neither
all light nor all dark, it is what you make of it. It embraces our light
and teaches us to embrace ourselves as a whole dual being and use our light
as well as our darkness in a way that allows us to better ourselves, and
through ourselves. our world.
I am always studying
to increase the knowledge and skills I have to pass on to others.
I live by the law
of attraction and I practices in the fields of divination, manifestation,
sympathetic (white) magick and energy work. I also work with crystals,
crystal energies and all this, of course, I do with the help of fairy energy.
Through my spiritual
work I remain true to my artist roots (Children's
Book Illustrator & Muralist) and I create spiritual arts, crafts
and teach classes on the subject as well.
I hold workshops
on various subjects from Reiki to manifestation to working with crystals,
or anything in between and beyond.
I also take
custom orders for just about any metaphysical, spiritual or personalized
art, craft or tool object you can imagine yourself in need (or want) of.
One of my favorite
ways that I have been able to marry art and spirituality was through my
ability to see your spirit guides, and then paint or draw a portrait of
what I see. I love what I do!
I also like to meet
new people and making new friends. I found a great way to do this is through
attending festivals and art shows around the wonderful state of Florida.
It lets me travel and see new places while I share my work with you in
person!
I created MysticalFlorida.com
as a way to better share my work with others and to have a place where
I can share all the magick in my life, with all the people who live or
visit my home state of Florida .
My work here has
lead me to organize small psychic fairs which I named The Mystical Mini
Fair, which in turn lead me to new people & experiences. As the festival
grew it changed names to the Mystical Fair, then before I left we chose
the name Enchanted Festival which I hope will continue on in peace and
harmony as move on to new things.
 After
leaving the Mystical Fair, I found myself reaching back to my fairy friends
and so I develop the Tropical Fairy Festival, which I run solo with the
help of dear friends and trusted volunteers. This is my main focus today
and I expect for many years to come. It brings me so much joy to connect
so many people with the Fairy realms.
